An article in the New York Times Online discusses how tattoos are slowly gaining more visibility. Not only are more people getting tattooed, but people are getting tattoos that are more visible. Tattoos are seen more frequently on hands and faces, necks and fingers, than ever before.

It’s interesting to read the quotes from various professionals who are heavily tattooed and modified about their opinions and experiences, mostly in the career world. It is generally agreed that tattoos make it harder to get jobs, and yet from the comments it would seem that once you have the job, none of the clients ever express any problems with the modified person’s appearance.

There is also mention of how the old schoolers who have lots of tattoos are offended by the younger people who immediately get tattooed on their hands, necks or faces without having been heavily tattooed elsewhere first.
