BE CAREFUL when getting a tattoo! Tattoos have grown so popular that it’s easy to believe there are no risks to tattooing. However, as the case of Moonshin tattoo unfolds, we are getting a reminder that tattoo parlours aren’t always keeping our safety at the forefront of their minds.
Moonshin Tattoo was found to be lax in record keeping with their sterilization processes and public health officials did not complete annual health inspections as is required by law. Now people who received tattoos at this particular parlour are being urged to undergo testing for diseases like HIV and Hepatitis.
One man has proven to be positive for Hepatitis B, and people are worried that his infection may be traced back to the tattoo parlour.
