Tattoo Artist Attempts Record
November 18th, 2009According to NBC Los Angeles, Jeremy Swan of Broken Art Tattoo wants to break the record for most tattoos inked in 24 hours by attempting to complete 900 tattoos!
From NBC: “We really need the hours in the middle of the night to be filled. So, calling all bartenders and restaurant workers who get off at 2 a.m.: Go directly to Broken Art (with every drunk patron you can bring) and get your $20 record-breaking tattoo,” Swan said on his website.
Can you imagine the sheer loss of feeling this guy is going to have in his hand after tattooing even a quarter the amount of these tattoos? And what would it be like to be the last person tattooed? What will be the quality difference between the first tattoo done, and the last tattoo completed?
Would you get a tattoo done this way just to say that you were a part of the record attempt?

Tattoo Panties
May 11th, 2009We don’t admit to being on top of the latest fashions, unless we see them on the hottest tattooed babes… but our attention was drawn to these panties that create a kind of temporary tattoo on the person that wears them.

What would you think if you took a hottie home from the bar, got her stripped down naked, and saw these marks on her butt and thighs? Would you enjoy the design or would you be too horny to care?
Ninette Van Kamp, the creator, must feel the patterns are beautiful, and we think that maybe they are a good alternative to ink for those chicks that just aren’t ready to go under the needle.
Thanks Haute Macabre for drawing our attention to panties for a day!

Tattoo Advertising
May 2nd, 2009Remember when some guy got paid money to display a temporary tattoo for Golden Palace on his forehead? No? What about the woman who had a permanent tattoo put on her forhead for the casino? Oh yeah…
Has tattoo advertising died? Tattooing an advertisement on your forehead seems like a pretty dumb, and desperate measure. Especially for the amounts of money that were settled upon. If we were going to tattoo something on our foreheads, something that is permanent and will be there for life, hell we would want to be set up with income for life. Keep those cheques rolling monthly. Better yet, just one massive payout so the company can’t go bellyup a few years down the road and leave you with no money and an ugly tattoo on your head.
This article from the New York Times talks about the body as advertising, and tattoo ads are mentioned. The latest development are some people that were paid to shave their heads and display ads on the back of them for an airline. These were temporary tattoos, but close to tattoo ads.
What about the free advertising that people are doing with their tattoos? There are thousands of people getting logos and symbols tattooed on their bodies that represent their favorite brands, bands, and people. Free tattoo advertising at it’s best!
What do you think about it? Would you still find a girl attractive if she had a brand name tattooed on her somewhere? Or does the whole idea turn your stomach?

Tattooed Wedding Rings
April 13th, 2009If you know a little bit about tattoos, you must know about “The Curse”. Getting your girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband’s name tattooed on your body is the symbol of doom! Your relationship is sure to crumble if you give in to the desire to permanently etch their name or likeness on your skin.
According to AmIAnnoying.com, some celebrities who have tattooed wedding rings on their fingers are Hulk Hogan, Jenna Jameson, Pamela Anderson, and of course Tommy Lee. We all know how those marriages went down.

Risks of Getting Tattooed
March 19th, 2009It’s easy to think that getting inked is safe and healthy, considering how many people are getting tattooed these days. With shops popping up all over and every one of them touting their health standards, it’s hard to know whether getting a tattoo actually has any risks.
The truth is, tattoos do present certain risks that need to be considered. You might be getting a tattoo in a friend’s kitchen and trust your friends to be clean, or you might not have realized you were allergic to red inks before, and herein lies the danger.
According to the Mayo clinic “Tattoo inks are classified as cosmetics, so they aren’t regulated or approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)” which means that your tattoo artist could literally be injecting anything under your skin. This opens up an entire world of allergies and possible side effects from having ink permanently placed into your flesh.
And that’s not all. If you are interested in learning more about the risks of getting tattooed, click here to read the article at the Mayo Clinic!
